JOB OVERVIEW:

PNK Group is rapidly growing and we are seeking an experienced HR Compliance Manager with strong knowledge of labor law ((PA, GA, NY, VA, NJ, CT) and HR policy development to join us in our beautiful NYC office to help standardize and improve our HR practices. This role is not about recruitment but about creating robust, compliant, and practical HR policies, procedures, and employee handbooks.

REQUIREMENTS

  • 5+ years of HR experience, with at least 2–3 years focused on policy development and compliance.
  • Strong understanding of federal and (PA, GA, NY, VA, NJ, CT) employment law (EEOC, FLSA, OSHA, wage and hour laws, etc.).
  • Bilingual Russian/English
  • Experience in the construction or manufacturing industry (strongly preferred but not required)
  • Proven ability to write clear, practical HR policies and procedures.
  • Familiarity with union and non-union environments is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills.
  • Self-starter with strong project management ability.
  • Knowledge and work experience with ADP, Bamboo and other related software.
Responsibilities
  • Review and analyze current HR policies and practices for compliance with federal,(PA, GA, NY, VA, NJ, CT), and local employment laws.
  • Develop, write, and implement HR policies, procedures, and employee handbooks tailored to construction and manufacturing operations.
  • Conduct gap analyses to identify compliance risks.
  • Create and maintain HR documentation in clear, accessible language for staff and management.
  • Advise leadership on HR best practices, risk management, and employment law changes.
  • Support the integration of HR policy into daily operations.
  • Deliver policy training and communications to managers and employees.
  • Partner with legal advisors as needed to ensure policy alignment with current laws.
  • Contribute to establishing consistent, scalable HR compliance practices across projects and sites.
  • Upgrade and develop HR software and find better solutions for onboarding/hiring/firing processes.
  • Assist with day-to-day hiring/terminating process, checking accuracy of signed onboarding documents and overall compliance.
  • Garnishments – control information flow to payroll and payment as required
  • Medical insurance – enrollment /termination; exchange information; control of deductions in payroll
  • Prepare data on vacations/sick leaves and other kinds of absence. Control approval of vacations/sick leaves
  • Prepare responses to inquiries from state agencies (unemployment, child support)
  • Integration of best practices for compensation and benefits programs (401K, insurance, KPIs, and more).
