Every day is busy and different, and you will have ownership of cases from end to end, bringing each case to an appropriate conclusion.

To be successful in this role you will…

  • be a Level 5 Associate member of the CIPD or have equivalent experience.
  • have an in-depth working knowledge of employment law.
  • have a proven track record of applying HR policies and providing expert advice to managers on complex case work including Employee Relations matters (e.g. sickness, performance, conduct) and change management (e.g. restructuring, contract variations, TUPE)
  • be a confident communicator with the ability to prepare and deliver information and advice to a range of different audiences.
  • be customer focussed, innovative in your thinking and collaborative in your approach.
  • have an ability to problem solve and fully research complex HR issues.

In HR we recognise the value of an inclusive and diverse workforce. Our department supports the principles of agile working and so there is flexibility within this role for some homeworking.
This role will be based at Kempston, although much of the time you will work from home. Please note, however, you will be expected to work flexibly across sites in Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire as the work demands. Flexible working arrangements will also be considered.
