Description

When was the last time work actually excited you?

If you had to think about it, keep reading.

Core Strategies is a human resources specialist firm based in Toronto, New South Wales. We are hiring an HR professional or employment lawyer who is ready for a different way to do HR.

What makes this role different

You do not get one business. You get a portfolio. A real estate agency one hour, a trades business the next, a care provider after lunch and a transport company before you go home. Every client is a different puzzle and you are the one solving it.

You sit across from business owners, not middle management. They ask how to grow, who to hire, how to restructure and what it will cost. Your advice changes the direction of a business and you see it happen.

The Fair Work side is live. It is growing and it lands on your desk. If you have ever wanted to work at the edge of HR and employment law, this is where that happens every week.

What you will do

  • Provide practical HR and employment relations advice to a portfolio of small and medium business clients across multiple industries
  • Advise owners on recruitment, restructures, performance management, terminations and workplace policies
  • Interpret and apply the Fair Work Act, modern awards and enterprise agreements
  • Prepare employment contracts, policies, letters and workplace investigations
  • Support clients through Fair Work Commission matters alongside our senior team
  • Build long-term relationships with clients as their trusted HR adviser

What you bring

  • A background in human resources, employment relations or employment law
  • Sound working knowledge of the Fair Work Act and the modern award system
  • The confidence to sit across from a business owner and give a clear answer
  • Comfort managing several clients and deadlines at once
  • A genuine, direct communication style. We hire people who are real with clients because that is what clients pay for
  • Tertiary qualifications in HR, law, business or a related field, or equivalent experience

What we offer

  • Training and development, including a pathway into employment law if that is where you want to go
  • You will learn more here in 12 months than in five years inside one company
  • A small, tight team that laughs a lot and locks in together when a client needs us
  • An in-office role in Toronto NSW, because this is where the good stuff happens

How to apply

Apply through SEEK with a detailed resume, or email ••••@corestrategies.net.au.

Want to stand out? You are welcome to include a short video, up to five minutes, telling us why this opportunity excites you. This is optional and applications without a video are assessed equally.

Core Strategies is an equal opportunity employer. We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds and encourage you to tell us about any adjustments you need during the recruitment process.

Employer questions

Your application will include the following questions:

  • Which of the following statements best describes your right to work in Australia?
  • How many years' experience do you have as an Employment Relations Advisor?
  • How much notice are you required to give your current employer?
  • Have you completed a qualification in law?
  • Have you worked in a role which requires a sound understanding of the Fair Work Act?
