We are seeking an experienced HR Consultant with in-depth knowledge of Canadian employment laws and HR compliance standards. This role will primarily support the development and revision of employee handbooks, HR policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with federal and provincial regulations across Canada.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proven experience as an HR Consultant, HR Manager, or similar role with a focus on Canadian HR compliance.
  • Strong understanding of employment legislation across multiple Canadian provinces (e.g., Ontario, British Columbia, Alberta, Quebec).
  • Experience developing or revising employee handbooks, HR policies, and SOPs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage projects independently and deliver high-quality work on time.
  • CHRP/CHRL designation (or equivalent) is a plus.
  • Proven experience as an HR Consultant or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of employment & labor laws.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with HRIS systems (e.g., Workday, ADP).
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with talent acquisition strategies.
  • Strong analytical skills for data-driven decision making.

Responsibilities
  • Review, update, and/or create employee handbooks aligned with Canadian employment legislation (federal and provincial).
  • Ensure all HR policies and practices comply with current labor laws, occupational health and safety, human rights, and privacy legislation in Canada.
  • Provide strategic HR guidance to leadership on compliance requirements and policy implementation.
  • Conduct audits of current HR documents and practices to identify compliance gaps.
  • Assist in aligning HR documentation with organizational values and DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) goals.
  • Advise on best practices in onboarding, performance management, disciplinary action, and termination procedures under Canadian law.
  • Stay current with evolving regulations and provide updates or revisions as needed.
