HR Consultant (Resolution) £45,750 - £49,056 per annum The London Borough of Newham is committed to delivering exceptional services to our community. We are seeking a highly experienced and proactive HR Consultant to join our dynamic team.  This is a key role in contributing to the development of the Council’s conflict resolution service (facilitated conversation or mediation) and support the implementation and ongoing delivery of this. In addition, to deliver high quality and consistent advice, guidance and solutions to people managers and employees across all aspects of HR policy and procedure, in line with legislative parameters.  Key Responsibilities: * Advisory Services: Respond to and manage enquiries related to all aspects of the employee life cycle, offering accurate and timely advice to staff and management. * Manager Support: Empower and enable managers by providing guidance and support on HR policies, procedures, and best practices. * Job Evaluations: Conduct thorough job evaluations, ensuring roles are appropriately assessed and recorded in compliance with our standards and policies. * Record Maintenance: Maintain and update accurate records of job evaluations, employee data, and other relevant HR documentation. What We’re Looking For: * Experience: Proven experience in an HR role, preferably within a local government or public sector environment. * Knowledge: Strong understanding of HR processes, policies, and best practices. Familiarity with the employee life cycle and job evaluation methodologies. * Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and effectively to a variety of stakeholders. * Organisational Skills: Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities efficiently. * Problem-Solving: Proactive approach to identifying issues and developing practical solutions. The London Borough of Newham is located only 5 miles east of London. It is well positioned with access to all major networks in London and the south east.  It is well connected  by public transport with, bus, tube and DLR. When the Crossrail service opens it will call at Custom House close to our council offices and also Stratford station and from there to central London. The London City Airport which serves major European cities is located at Royal Albert Dock. Newham has the youngest overall population in the country. It was one of the six host boroughs for the 2012 Summer Olympics and contains most of the Olympic Park including the London Stadium. It has a thriving arts quarter with the Theatre Royal Stratford East offering excellent entertainment for all the family. There is the University of East London which has two campuses in Newham, one in Stratford and another next to the regenerated Royal Albert Dock. It also has a large Westfield shopping Centre in Stratford which has all the major retailers there.
Responsibilities
