This senior-level role will be a key contributor to shaping and delivering our people strategy and strengthening our culture of engagement, trust, and continuous improvement. Reporting to the Sr. Director, Human Resources, the HR Consultant acts as a strategic business partner and trusted advisor to leaders and employees. The successful candidate will lead core HR programs, provide guidance on complex and sensitive HR matters, and support the development and implementation of modern, inclusive, and compliant HR practices. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: HR Subject Matter Expertise & Leadership * Serve as a trusted HR advisor to managers, employees, and cross-functional partners. * Provide subject matter expertise on HR policies, processes, programs, and legislation. * Support and coach HR team members and contribute to day-to-day operational oversight. * Lead assigned HR projects and mentor individuals contributing to HR initiatives. HR Strategy, Programs & Operations * Support the development and execution of departmental plans aligned to TTCPP’s strategic priorities. * Manage and enhance HR programs, processes, and systems (e.g., HRIS, job descriptions, performance management, onboarding/offboarding, policy development). * Provide expert guidance on HR matters, including employee relations, performance issues, and HR policy interpretation. * Prepare HR metrics, dashboards, reports, and materials for the Governance & Human Resources Committee and the Board. Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning * Lead full-cycle recruitment, including needs assessments, sourcing, screening, interviewing, and selection. * Partner with managers and external stakeholders (e.g., agencies, job fairs) to attract and hire talent. * Oversee and continuously improve the onboarding experience for new hires. Performance, Compensation & Development * Lead the annual performance review and compensation processes, ensuring consistency, fairness, and effective communication. * Support the development and implementation of learning and development programs, training plans, and skill-building initiatives. * Partner with leaders to identify learning needs and support tailored development strategies. Disability Management, Benefits & Well‑Being * Lead short‑term and long‑term disability and WSIB case management, including documentation and return‑to‑work planning. * Manage employee benefits programs, including administration, communication, cost evaluation, and plan improvements. Culture, DEI & Employee Engagement * Support Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) by coordinating events, providing resources, and fostering an inclusive culture. * Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion throughout all HR programs and decisions. * Build strong relationships with employees and leaders to strengthen engagement and workplace culture.   What will help me be successful?   Education * Post-secondary education in Human Resources or a related discipline, or equivalent experience. * HR designation (CHRP/CHRL) achieved or in progress. * Ongoing commitment to professional learning and staying current with HR legislation and best practices. Experience & Skills * 8+ years of progressive HR experience, with strong experience in HR business partnership and talent acquisition. * Experience coaching, mentoring, or leading HR initiatives or team members. * Strong understanding of the full employee lifecycle and modern HR practices. * Solid knowledge of HR legislation (e.g., Human Rights Code, ESA, OHSA). * Experience with HRIS/ATS platforms (e.g., ADP Workforce Now) and sourcing tools (LinkedIn Recruiter, Indeed). * Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams).
