ABOUT YOU:

The successful candidate will ideally have the following skills and experience:

  • Demonstrated recruitment experience with the ability to effectively perform and coordinate administrative and customer service tasks.
  • Proven ability to respond flexibly to client needs, providing advice and solutions in a polite and considerable manner.
  • A fitness qualification would be desirable, however is not mandatory.
  • An understanding of Victoria Police Intelligence assessment tools is beneficial but not mandatory.
  • The ability to understand and apply policies and procedures.
  • Well-developed data entry skills with experience in the maintenance of comprehensive records (manual and computerised) and reports.
  • Demonstrated ability to work cohesively in a team and independently.
  • Well-developed interpersonal communication skills and a high-level attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated experience with managing an end-to-end recruitment function.
  • Ability to draw inferences from various sources to make a recommendation.
  • Proven track record in interpreting and applying knowledge of recruitment legislation and policies.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Victoria Police Recruiting Services Branch are responsible for the ongoing recruitment of Sworn Police and Protective Services Officers into Victoria Police. As the successful applicant you will assist in receiving, processing and assessing applications for employment with Victoria Police by applying policies and standards in accordance with approved and established recruitment policies and procedures.
Recruiting Services Branch is looking for enthusiastic HR Consultants with a history of providing excellent customer service, an understanding of candidate care and strong communication skills to join the expanding team. This is no regular recruitment opportunity, as you will become a part of the recruitment process focused on screening and selecting the new generation of Police Officers, Protective Services Officers and Protective Custody Officers for Victoria Police.

YOUR DUTIES WILL INCLUDE:

  • Day-to-day administrative tasks as required.
  • Reviewing and assessing applications.
  • Vetting of documents and databases.
  • Drafting reports with recommendations.
  • Managing applicant enquires via phone and email and providing accurate advice on recruitment.
  • Confidentially maintaining systems and databases in accordance with policy.
  • Research and vetting into applicant suitability.
  • Analysing information and probing for facts.
  • Writing triage reports and recommendations for senior stakeholders’ consideration.
  • Facilitating police, PSO and PCO panel interviews and making recommendations on suitability for employment.
  • Liaising with stakeholders.
  • Providing advice on selection processes.
  • Assisting with recruitment and attraction events where required.
  • Attending assessment days.
