MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in an HR support or coordination role, preferably within the construction or related industry.
  • Strong knowledge of HR practices, labor laws, and employee relations.
  • Experience with multiple unions and understanding basics of collective bargaining agreements is critical.
  • Proficiency with HR information systems (HRIS, specifically ADP Workforce Now) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Certification in Human Resources (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP) is desirable, but not required.
  • Experience working in the construction industry or a similar fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with payroll processes and benefits administration software.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

The HR Coordinator role is based in Aurora, IL and plays a pivotal role in supporting the human resources department to ensure smooth and efficient HR operations. This position is responsible for coordinating recruitment processes, maintaining employee records, and facilitating communication between management and staff. The HR Coordinator will assist in onboarding new hires, managing employee benefits, and ensuring compliance with labor laws and company policies. By acting as a liaison between employees and HR management, this role helps foster a positive work environment and supports workforce development. RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate and manage the recruitment process including job postings, screening resumes, scheduling interviews, and communicating with candidates.
  • Maintain and update employee records in HR databases ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Assist in the onboarding process for new employees, including preparing orientation materials and facilitating introductions to company policies and culture.
  • Support benefits administration by liaising with providers and assisting employees with benefits enrollment and inquiries.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and company policies by assisting in audits, maintaining documentation, and supporting HR initiatives.
