HR COORDINATOR

Are you passionate about making a meaningful impact by helping organizations grow and thrive? Nucor Buildings Group West is seeking an HR Coordinator to join our team in Lathrop, CA. In this role, you’ll be responsible for coordinating onboarding processes, managing employee benefits, and supporting employee relations to help create a positive and productive work environment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Two years prior Human Resource experience (i.e. payroll, benefits, onboarding).
  • Direct experience with common California HR practices employment laws, procedures, and employment liability.
  • No relatives currently employed at Nucor Buildings Group West

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Prior experience with SAP, Success Factors, or similar HCM.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field
  • HR certification through HRCI or SHRM
  • HR benefit experience (i.e. FMLA, LTD, insurance carriers).
Responsibilities

As an HR Coordinator, you’ll play a pivotal role in providing comprehensive HR support across a variety of functions. Key responsibilities include:

  • Policy Compliance: Review, update, and maintain HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Teammate Support: Guide leadership on HR-related issues, including disciplinary actions, coaching, and policy interpretation.
  • Hiring & Onboarding: Collaborate with leadership on job postings for the hiring and onboarding processes to ensure new teammates feel supported from day one.
  • Confidentiality & Payroll Support: Handle sensitive teammate information with discretion and provide backup support for payroll and other HR-related areas as needed.
  • Benefits and Insurance: Serve as the main point of contact for benefits-related questions, manage enrollments and changes, and coordinate with providers to ensure accurate coverage.
  • Leave Laws and Administration: Family Leave Medical Act (FMLA), Long Term Disability (LTD), California state disability and California Sick Leave.
  • Employee Relations: Foster a positive work environment by supporting conflict resolution efforts, promoting open communication, and reinforcing company values.
