About the role

Industrial Metal Services (IMS) is looking for a reliable and hardworking HR Driver / Yard All Rounder to join our team at Crestmead.

This is a varied, hands-on position combining HR truck driving, customer collections and deliveries, bulk-bin servicing and general recycling yard duties.

We are looking for someone who is happy to get out of the truck and help wherever required. Some days will involve driving and servicing customers across Brisbane, while other times you will be assisting the team in the yard.

Key responsibilities

Your duties will include:

• Safely driving HR vehicles between our yard, customer sites and other locations
• Collecting and delivering scrap metal
• Delivering, collecting and exchanging bulk bins at customer sites
• Loading and unloading vehicles safely
• Completing driver logbooks, job updates and required paperwork
• Completing vehicle pre-start and post-trip inspections
• Reporting vehicle maintenance or repair requirements
• Providing professional and friendly service to customers and suppliers
• Assisting with grading, sorting and processing scrap metal
• Operating forklifts and excavators where appropriately licensed
• Maintaining a clean and safe yard and work environment
• Following IMS safety procedures and Chain of Responsibility requirements
• Assisting with other yard and operational duties as required

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• A current HR driver's licence
• At least 12 months' experience driving HR vehicles
• A good driving record and strong commitment to road safety
• A strong work ethic and hands-on attitude
• Excellent reliability and punctuality
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good physical fitness and willingness to undertake manual work
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Attention to detail and a strong commitment to workplace safety
• Your own reliable transport to and from our Crestmead site

Highly regarded but not essential

The following will be an advantage:

• Previous experience in the scrap metal, recycling or waste industry
• Forklift licence (LF)
• Excavator experience
• Experience operating recycling or earthmoving equipment
• Knowledge of scrap metal grading and processing

Training can be provided to the right person who is willing to learn and develop additional skills.
