We’re Hiring: Human Resources Generalist

Are you passionate about people, process, and purpose? At Total Civil Construction & Engineering, we’re looking for a Human Resources Generalist who’s ready to support the field and the office with impactful HR strategies, full-cycle recruiting, and exceptional employee experiences.
What You’ll Do:
As a Human Resources Generalist, you’ll be the go-to person for both day-to-day employee needs and high-impact initiatives. You’ll partner with operations and leadership to ensure compliance, foster growth, and keep our team aligned and supported.
Your role will include:
- Administer the employee healthcare benefits program. Assist with the annual open enrollment process. Answer questions and/or direct employees to the appropriate person or online portal. Assist eligible employees by educating them regarding their options and costs
- Manage Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance enrollments while updating choices on Foundation to process bills and deductions
- Processes claims from employees on the website and follows up with the administrator
- Administer 401(k) plans, including loan processing and audits
- Develop ad hoc reports as needed including ACA-1095, EEO-1, and Non-Discrimination Testing using Foundation and Heavy Jobs
- Reports on claims, potential losses, and insurance costs to owners
- Administer corporate insurance programs, including evaluating/selecting brokers and carriers, negotiating insurance coverage, etc
- Codes and administers the bill for multiple services such as EyeMed, Concentra, FBG, CareFirst, United Concordia, and Mutual of Omaha
- Administer coordinating Employee Social Events
- Supports the Planning Department with the revision of establishing standard procedures
- Administer the immigration processes for Total’s employees including H-1B, PERMs, L1, etc
- Responds to all the child support requests and updates the deductions on the system
- Processes PTO forms and works closely with the Payroll Department to ensure payments

We’re seeking a professional who is people-focused, detail-oriented, and proactive.
EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, or social sciences (required)
- PHR/CP certification (preferred)
EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
- Minimum 2 years in a Human Resources Generalist role
- Bilingual English/Spanish
- Strong understanding of benefits administration, labor laws, and recruiting best practices
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities
