Job Purpose: The HR Generalist supports human resources operations for a fast-paced warehouse and distribution environment. This role is responsible for employee relations, recruiting, compliance, and weekly payroll processing, while driving initiatives to improve engagement, retention, and workforce stability. Employee Relations and Workforce Support Act as the primary HR contact for warehouse employees, sales team members, and office staff Address employee concerns, conduct investigations, and resolve workplace issues Partner with managers across operations, sales, and corporate functions on performance management and coaching Promote a positive, inclusive, and performance-driven workplace culture Recruitment and Onboarding Manage full-cycle recruiting for warehouse, sales, and office roles Partner with staffing agencies as needed Lead onboarding and orientation programs to ensure strong employee integration Weekly Payroll Processing Process weekly payroll for non-exempt and exempt employees Resolve payroll discrepancies in partnership with managers and employees Ensure compliance with wage and hour laws (FLSA) Maintain payroll records and support audits and reporting Benefits Administration Administer employee benefits programs (health, dental, vision, 401(k)) Support open enrollment and employee education Respond to employee questions regarding benefits and eligibility Workers’ Compensation & Leave Administration Manage workers’ compensation claims, including reporting, documentation, and coordination with insurance carriers Partner with managers to ensure timely incident reporting and proper follow-up Track claims, support return-to-work programs, and monitor modified duty assignments Administer leave of absence programs, including FMLA, ADA, and company leave policies Coordinate with employees, managers, and third-party administrators to ensure compliance and proper documentation Maintain accurate records and ensure timely communication throughout the leave/claims process HR Operations and Compliance Maintain accurate employee data in HRIS and timekeeping systems Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws Support audits, including I-9, payroll, and compliance reviews Track and report HR metrics such as turnover, attendance, and time-to-fill Office and Administrative Support Support general office operations, including ordering supplies and coordinating vendors Assist with employee communications, announcements, and internal events Maintain personnel files and ensure proper documentation and organization Coordinate meetings, training sessions, and HR-related scheduling Support company-wide initiatives, recognition programs, and engagement activities Assist leadership with administrative tasks and special projects as needed Engagement and Retention Partner with leadership across warehouse, sales, and office teams to address turnover and performance challenges Support employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and feedback efforts Conduct stay and exit interviews to identify trends and improvement opportunities Qualifications: · Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred · 3–5+ years of HR experience in a multi-functional environment (warehouse/distribution preferred) · Hands-on experience with weekly payroll processing, including commissions or incentive pay · Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR compliance · Experience supporting hourly and salaried employees across multiple functions · Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills · Ability to balance HR responsibilities with administrative/office support tasks · High level of integrity and confidentiality · Spanish proficiency a plus · Experience with implementing an EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System) Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk and hear. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
