We are looking for an experienced HR Generalist to join our team and play a key role in driving workforce success. In this role, you will support recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and compliance for our office and warehouse teams. Fraser Direct is a family-owned and run company with 25 years in business. With the second generation of Frasers at the helm, our company is experiencing tremendous growth. Based in the GTA, Fraser Direct has two flagship warehouses, two satellite warehouses and a robust office staff. This role will support this existing operation and focus on shaping the future of our workforce as we grow.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related discipline.
  • 3–5 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a warehouse, transportation, or manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of Canadian employment legislation (Employment Standards Act, Human Rights Code, OHSA, AODA, WSIB, etc.).
  • Experience managing hourly, shift-based, and multicultural workforces.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and HRIS platforms (e.g., Dayforce, Workday, ADP Canada, UKG).
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with health & safety or JHSC participation.

Responsibilities

ROLE:

As HR Generalist you are responsible for delivering comprehensive human resource support across fast-paced office and warehouse operations. This role manages full-cycle recruitment for both hourly and salaried roles, oversees employee relations, ensures compliance with employment and safety regulations, and supports performance management initiatives. The HR Generalist acts as a strategic partner to operations leadership and employees, fostering a safe, engaged, and productive workforce aligned with business objectives.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Partner with operations leadership to support workforce planning, recruitment, and staffing for office and warehouse roles.
  • Advise managers on HR policy interpretation, progressive discipline, and employee relations, ensuring consistency and fairness in application.
  • Conduct end-to-end recruitment for hourly and salaried positions, including job postings, interviews, reference checks, and onboarding.
  • Coordinate and conduct employee orientations and ensure compliance with employment standards and occupational health & safety requirements.
  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate employee files in compliance with Canadian privacy legislation and internal audit requirements.
  • Support payroll and benefits administration by collecting and verifying timekeeping data; liaise with payroll and finance teams.
  • Track attendance and manage leaves of absence (e.g., sick leave, STD, WSIB), and assist with return-to-work and accommodation plans.
  • Promote a culture of safety and compliance by participating in Joint Health & Safety Committee (JHSC) activities and initiatives.
  • Investigate and document employee complaints, concerns, and incidents in alignment with internal protocols and legal obligations.
  • Monitor key HR metrics (e.g., turnover, absenteeism, engagement), and provide insights to leadership.
