Description We’re looking for an experienced Human Resources Generalist who enjoys working with people and systems in equal measure. This role supports staff across the organization and partners closely with leadership to make sure our HR practices are thoughtful, compliant, and grounded in our values. The right person brings solid HR experience, good judgment, and a calm, approachable presence. Support Our People Serve as a go-to resource for staff questions about policies, benefits, leave, and workplace practices Help maintain a positive, inclusive, and respectful workplace culture Handle sensitive employee matters with care, discretion, and fairness HR Operations & Compliance Maintain and update HR policies, procedures, and the employee handbook Ensure compliance with employment laws and nonprofit regulations Keep accurate, confidential employee records and HR systems Hiring & Onboarding Coordinate hiring processes from job posting through offer and onboarding Partner with hiring managers to support equitable, inclusive recruitment practices Help new employees feel welcomed, informed, and set up for success Employee Relations & Performance Support supervisors with performance management, coaching, and feedback Assist with employee relations concerns, investigations, and resolutions as needed Support performance review and goal-setting processes Pay, Benefits & Payroll Support Administer benefits programs and act as a liaison with benefits providers Support payroll processing in coordination with finance or external vendors Assist with compensation reviews and benchmarking Learning & Growth Help identify training and professional development opportunities Support staff engagement, retention, and wellbeing initiatives Other Duties as assigned Benefits Health, Dental and Vision Flex spending plan Life, short-term and long-term insurance 401K match up to 4% Generous PTO plan starting 16 days 13 Paid holidays Employee referral Paid parental and medical leave Requirements · Strong understanding of employment law and HR best practices · Excellent communication and organizational skills · Ability to handle confidential matters with professionalism and sound judgment · 5+ years of HR experience, ideally in a nonprofit or mission-driven organization · HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP, or similar) · Experience with HRIS systems and benefits administration · Familiarity with equity-centered and inclusive HR practices · Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience · HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP, or similar) · Experience with HRIS systems and benefits administration · Familiarity with equity-centered and inclusive HR practices
