OVERVIEW

We are seeking a skilled Human Resources Generalist to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, communicates effectively, and enjoys supporting both new hires and internal HR operations. The HR Generalist will report directly to the Director of Human Resources.

EXPERIENCE

  • Prior experience with HR data entry, onboarding, or recruitment coordination
  • Proficiency with HRIS platforms such as Workday and ADP
  • Experience supporting payroll and maintaining accurate employee records
  • Strong organizational skills with a keen eye for detail
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Minimum 1–3 years of experience in a Human Resources role
  • CHRP designation is considered an asset
  • Results-driven with the ability to plan and implement HR initiatives
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-starter with a positive, collaborative attitude and eagerness to grow in the HR field

Responsibilities
  • Update and maintain employee records across multiple HR systems
  • Support payroll preparation during payroll weeks, including onboarding and termination updates
  • Track and report on new hires, terminations, leaves of absence, and incident reports
  • Generate weekly and bi-weekly HR and payroll-related reports
  • Act as a point of contact and resource for employees
  • Build and maintain strong employee relations; advise managers on team development
  • Develop and execute recruitment strategies to support organizational growth
  • Manage all aspects of recruitment: job postings, interviews, offers, and onboarding
  • Coordinate offboarding processes for departing employees
  • Manage work-related incident reports (WCB/WSIB, return to work, injury-related leaves)
  • Prepare reports and conduct monthly health & safety inspections; schedule and track mandatory training
  • Act as plan administrator for group benefits: enrollments, terminations, and claims management
  • Track attendance and vacation balances; develop and deliver internal HR communications
  • Educate staff on HR policies and procedures and liaise with the payroll department
  • Conduct periodic audits of employee information and maintain personnel files
  • Support and conduct workplace investigations as needed
