About the Role A Safe Place is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Part-Time HR Generalist to support core human resources operations, with a primary focus on employee onboarding and benefits administration. This role plays a key part in creating a positive, compliant, and people-centered employee experience within a mission-driven environment. Key Responsibilities Onboarding & Employee Lifecycle Coordinate and manage end-to-end onboarding for new hires Prepare and process new hire documentation, including offer packets, I-9 verification, system access, and personnel records Conduct new hire orientations and serve as a point of contact during the onboarding process Maintain accurate, confidential, and compliant employee files Benefits Administration Administer employee benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, retirement, and leave benefits Support open enrollment processes, including employee communication and documentation Respond to employee inquiries regarding benefits eligibility, coverage, and changes Coordinate with benefits vendors and brokers as needed HR Support & Compliance Ensure HR practices comply with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations Assist with HR audits, reporting, and recordkeeping requirements Provide general HR support to employees and leadership Requirements Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience Minimum of 3 years of experience in human resources, including benefits administration Strong working knowledge of benefits regulations and HR best practices Excellent written and verbal communication skills Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite Strong organizational, time management, and attention-to-detail skills Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion Preferred Certifications PHR (Professional in Human Resources) SHRM-CP (SHRM Certified Professional) HRCI certification(s) CEBS (Certified Employee Benefit Specialist) Why Join A Safe Place Consistent weekday, part-time schedule Competitive hourly compensation Mission-driven work that makes a meaningful impact Collaborative, supportive, and trauma-informed work environment Additional Information This posting outlines the primary responsibilities of the role.
