Description

We are looking for a skilled HR Generalist to join our clients team on a contract basis in Langley, British Columbia. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in supporting various human resources functions, including recruitment, employee relations, and benefits administration. This position requires someone who excels in a unionized environment and is comfortable working on-site in a dynamic setting.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and manage the full-cycle recruitment process, including interviewing and onboarding new employees.
  • Assist in conducting investigations and taking statements in collaboration with the VP of HR.
  • Prepare and post internal communications, such as employee announcements, across all sites.
  • Monitor and track HR metrics, including headcount, hiring reports, and hours reporting, on a daily and weekly basis.
  • Ensure employee files are accurately maintained, both electronically and in paper format, keeping records current.
  • Administer payroll and benefits processes, tracking probationary periods, leave statuses, and review dates.
  • Support managers by coordinating benefits paperwork and preparing documentation for leave administration.
  • Facilitate company events and promote adherence to organizational policies and best practices.
  • Enter data into the time tracking system and promptly alert management to any discrepancies.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a human resources role, preferably within a unionized environment.
  • Proficiency with ADP Workforce Now and other HR-related systems.
  • Strong knowledge of employee relations, benefits administration, and full-cycle recruiting.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to handle sensitive situations professionally.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with workplace policies and procedures, including compliance with regulations.
  • Experience in maintaining accurate records and tracking HR metrics.
  • Positive attitude, quick learner, and ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with others.
