Beyond feeding hungry neighbors, Second Harvest Heartland believes in the importance of our work to help sustain our environment.  Job Description   JOB TITLE: HR Generalist   DEPARTMENT: Talent & Culture  LED BY: Namita Eveloy, Director of Talent & Culture    HOURS: The periods mentioned below are approximate and may vary based on the needs of the team.   20-40 hours per week.   * January 20 - March 13th 20 hours a week * March  2-  May11th 40 hours per week * May 14 - July 13:20 hours per week.     WORK ENVIRONMENT: Hybrid 2-3 Days/Week in Office.  Flexible schedule.   The HR Generalist will play an integral role as a member of the People ensuring the TC/HR programs and offerings are delivered successfully. This role will be responsible for talent acquisition, employee engagement and Human Resources, therefore impact employee experience in a multitude of ways.     DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES      Talent Acquisition  * Develop and create a great employee and candidate experience as a part of the SHH recruitingThiswill include managing internal candidates and external candidates through the hiring process. * Partner with the hiring managers to create a recruitingplanfor each opening, discussing potential internal candidates, and critical skills needed for the role. * Advocate forqualifiedcandidates and coach leaders through the selection process. * Managing requisitions from start tofinish:posting positions and pulling reports using the ADP system,screening interviews,schedulinghiringmanagerand panelinterviews, * Ensuring pre-hire processesincluding background checksarecompletedand candidates are cleared for starting employment.  Human Resources  * Operate as a direct point-of-contact for leaders and employees seeking clarification or HR collaborationregardingany HR process and/or procedure.  * Partners with leadersonemployee relations, coaching, employeedevelopmentand employee engagement. Talent Development  * Coordinatelogisticsof training sessions and large meetings. * Develop surveys, handoutsfor leadership development, talentroutinesand othertrainings to support the team Manager and Director.  * Maintainorganizationalcalendar which includes training and organization wide events.  * Support the administration ofthe employee engagement survey, runreportsand develop presentations. * Additionalduties as assigned.  Must Have:  * Demonstrated experience ingeneralHRsupport(generalist or HRBP), Recruiting, Talent Acquisition, StaffingAgencyor related field.  * Ability toleveragestrong interpersonal, collaboration, and communication skills to relate effectively with employees and leaders.  *  Strong reasoning, analytical, problem-solving kills  * Proven ability to motivate teams and manage conflict  * Ability to consult with leaders through strong business acumen and presence anddemonstratesituational adaptability * Demonstrated ability to plan,manageand follow through on multiple daily tasks and projects. * Proven ability toutilizebusiness technology, including computer hardware and software.  * Proven efficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, HRIS and ATS systemsrequired,ADP preferred.  * Knowledge of Federal, State and Local employment laws.    Nice to Have:   * SHRM and/or HRCI certificationsvaluedbutnotrequired.  * Bilingual in other languages highly desired, (Spanish, Somali, Hmong).   Our Values:  * We deliver. * We lead with our hearts. * We innovate. * We are all in this together. * We believe our differences make us stronger.   BEHAVIORAL EXPECTATIONS     * Demonstrate behavior consistent with SHH’s mission, vision, and values daily.  * Understand safety policies and actively promote safe practices in the workplace.  * Ability to build strong, constructive relationships with a diverse range of individual and organizational partners  * Support and collaborate on organization-wide equity and diversity efforts.  ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS     * A combination of education and experienceattainedthrough a bachelor’s degree in a related field, and/or a minimum of 3 years of experience.   * Proven experience intalent acquisition. * Proven experience in general HR support (ideally 2 years as a generalist or HRBP) * Attention to details such as training registrations, editing documents, reviewing materials, etc.  * Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.  * Advanced skills in PowerPoint and creating professional quality slides are highly desirable.  * Experience administering databases and running reports.  * Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.  * All relevant experience including work, education, transferable skills, and military experience will be considered.       DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS     * Experience working in a corporate environment or across diverse industries.  * Familiarity with multimedia tools and technologies for content creation (e.g., Canva, PowerPoint, Multimeter)  * Proficiencyin administering databases and/or learning management systems (LMS)   * Experience with mission driven organizations is desirable.  * Ability to juggle multiple projects and meet deadlines.     Second Harvest Heartland is an EEO/AA Employer.
