Description Position Summary: The HR Generalist will provide day-to-day human resources support for a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for implementing HR policies, ensuring compliance with labor laws, and supporting workforce engagement initiatives. The HR Generalist will serve as a key resource for employees and management on HR-related matters, including recruitment, employee relations, training, and performance management. Key Responsibilities: Recruitment & Staffing: Coordinate and manage full-cycle recruitment for hourly and salaried positions. Partner with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and develop job postings. Conduct interviews, background checks, and onboarding processes. Employee Relations: Act as a point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns. Investigate and resolve workplace issues in compliance with company policies and labor laws. Promote a positive work environment and employee engagement. Union Relations: Support labor relations activities and maintain positive relationships with union representatives. Assist in grievance handling and contract interpretation. Ensure compliance with collective bargaining agreements. Compliance & Policy Administration: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws (EEO, FMLA, OSHA, etc.). Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation. Assist with audits and reporting requirements. Training & Development: Support training initiatives for safety, compliance, and skill development. Coordinate orientation programs for new hires. Performance Management: Assist managers with performance review processes and goal setting. Provide guidance on corrective actions and progressive discipline. HR Metrics & Reporting: Track and report HR metrics such as turnover, absenteeism, and headcount. Recommend improvements based on data analysis. Requirements Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience). 2+ years of HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting. Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion. Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite. Preferred Skills: Experience with grievance handling and labor negotiations. Knowledge of safety and OSHA compliance. Previous experience working in a unionized environment. Working Conditions: On-site role in a manufacturing plant environment. May require occasional travel to other facilities or job fairs.
