We have an exciting career opportunity for a full-time, bilingual (English/French) Human Resources Generalist for our growing operation in Hawkesbury Ontario.

Overview of the Position:
The Human Resources Generalist position is a new role for The Green Beaver Company. As a working generalist, you will be collaborating with staff and leaders throughout the organization to learn about the company and culture, build relationships, understand the HR practices that have been established, and to build on all of these in support of the company’s rapid growth.
This position currently reports to the Director of Finance / HR.

Talent Acquisition:

  • In collaboration with leaders, develop job descriptions and postings for positions.
  • Collaborate with other departments to align employer brand with company brand.
  • Represent the company at career fairs and industry events.
  • Screen applications, schedule and participate in candidate interviews as needed.
  • Conduct reference verification as needed.
  • In collaboration with leaders, prepare employment contracts.
  • Develop and lead an engaging and comprehensive onboarding process

Qualifications:

  • Bilingual (English/French) is required.
  • Completion of a post-secondary diploma or degree in Human Resources Management or a related field is required.
  • Professional HR Designation is an asset.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Human Resources Generalist or similar role preferred.
  • Experience in a manufacturing setting is an asset.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with judgement, discretion and confidentiality.
  • Detailed knowledge of HR practices, Ontario Employment Standards legislation, Human Rights Code and the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
  • Experience administering a Group Benefits Plan.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Suite of products (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Experience with payroll administration is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Understand training needs and work with leaders to ensure employees meet both compliance and development training objectives.
  • Coordinate training sessions and track participation.
  • :
  • Respond to all manner of employee questions (i.e., benefits, policies, procedures, interpersonal matters).
  • Support and coach leaders on employee management related items (i.e., behaviour, performance, conflict, etc.).
  • Develop and implement a companywide goal-setting program.

Health & Safety:

  • Participate in the Joint Health & Safety Committee
  • Support company Health & Safety programs and initiatives

Communications:

  • Proactively communicate HR matters within the organization in a timely manner (i.e. changes to legislation, changes to benefits coverage, answer frequently asked questions, escalate important personnel matters to senior leadership).

Human Resource Administration:

  • Prepare bi-weekly payroll, including addition of new employees to payroll system, and review of completed timesheets.
  • Submit bi-weekly pension contributions.
  • Calculate and submit monthly Employer Health Tax (EHT) and Workplace Safety Insurance Board (WSIB) payments.
  • Administration of the Group Benefits Plan.
  • Digitize personnel files.
  • Utilize the Human Resource Information System (HRIS) to manage the employee workflow (i.e., creation of new employee profiles, filing, assignment of training courses, etc.).
  • Ensure Employee Handbook remains up to date with legislative or internal process/procedural changes.
  • Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPI) related to HR matters.
  • Other HR duties as may evolve or be assigned.
