Are you a dynamic HR professional passionate about aligning people strategy with business goals?
Wheco is looking for an experienced and solutions-oriented HR Generalist to support our Human Resources function and contribute to the ongoing success of our operations.
In this role, you will act as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to line management, supporting recruitment, employee relations, compliance, training, and performance management. You will play a key role in ensuring that HR practices support the organisation’s goals and foster a positive, compliant, and engaging workplace culture.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Education:
  • Minimum: National Senior Certificate (Matric)
  • Relevant Tertiary qualification in Human Resources/ Industrial Psychology
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 2–3 years in a generalist HR role
    Valid Driver’s License (essential)

SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES

  • Sound understanding of HR administration, systems, and South African labour law
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proactive, adaptable, and able to manage sensitive matters with discretion
  • Experience with performance management frameworks and onboarding practices
  • Exposure to HRIS systems and digital recruitment tools is advantageous
  • Attention to detail, analytical thinking, and a problem-solving mindset

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Employee Relations: Manage employee queries, advise on disciplinary procedures, and support conflict resolution
  • Recruitment & Onboarding: Coordinate hiring processes, interviews, and facilitate seamless onboarding experiences
  • Performance Management: Guide managers in appraisals, goal setting, and development plans
  • HR Compliance: Monitor and apply labour law changes, update policies, and conduct internal HR audits
  • Training & Development: Identify training needs and support implementation of development programmes
  • Policy Development: Create, review, and advise on HR policies to ensure fair, consistent application
