SUMMARY

Reporting to the Director of HR, the HR Generalist will be a key contact for hourly employees and will support a wide range of HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding/offboarding, training coordination, employee relations, CNESST case management, and more. The role will also lead various employee committees and help shape initiatives to foster a positive, inclusive workplace culture.

EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION

  • Minimum 5 years of HR experience
  • Strong knowledge of CNESST processes and Quebec/Canadian employment legislation
  • Bilingual — fluent in both English and French (written and spoken)
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Experience chairing committees and leading employee engagement programs
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel (30–40%)
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; highly organized and solutions-focused
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from work location
  • Ability and willingness to work in environments that could include exposure to bright lights, chemicals, fumes, and odours.

Responsibilities
  • Employee Lifecycle Management
  • Manage end-to-end onboarding and offboarding processes
  • Partner with hiring managers to support recruitment needs across multiple divisions
  • Support the development and delivery of training programs for both new hires and ongoing employee development
  • Employee Relations & Culture
  • Serve as the first point of contact for HR inquiries from hourly employees
  • Provide guidance on HR policies, procedures, and employment standards
  • Promote an open, transparent, and respectful workplace environment
  • Compliance & Health & Safety
  • Manage CNESST claims and return-to-work processes
  • Ensure compliance with Quebec and Canadian employment law and internal H&S protocols
  • Engagement & Committees
  • Lead and support employee committees (Health & Safety, Francization, Social Committee, etc.)
  • Plan and coordinate employee engagement activities and social events
  • HR Administration & Reporting
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation
  • Support internal audits and HR metrics tracking
  • Assist with the rollout of new HR programs and initiatives
