Description
Description Our residents count on our employees, and our employees count on HR — we’re looking for someone who takes that responsibility to heart. If you thrive in a role where every day is full, purposeful, and people-centered, this might be your next great fit. We’re a small, high-trust HR team supporting 500 employees who care for 700 residents across 10 senior living communities throughout the State of Maine. Our mission is simple and powerful: to make each day the best day possible for the residents we service, while bringing peace of mind to the people who love them. This role plays a direct part in supporting the people who bring that mission to life. We’re looking for an HR Generalist who brings energy, ownership, and genuine care to their work — someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, notices the details others miss, and takes full responsibility for the work they lead while still being ready to support the team when needed. What You’ll Own Candidate sourcing, outreach, and communication — reviewing applications, connecting with candidates, gathering needed information, and ensuring they feel supported throughout the hiring process Application flow management — sending completed applications to hiring leaders through the ATS and keeping the process moving Hiring process support — partnering with leaders during interview selection, scheduling, and communication Wage offer coordination — reviewing wage bands, developing pay rate recommendations, and responding to wage offer requests Offer extension & pre-boarding — extending offers, sending required documents, and following up to ensure timely completion Onboarding coordination — preparing new hire files, tracking completion of onboarding tasks, and ensuring a smooth transition into orientation Bi-weekly orientation facilitation — co-leading new hire orientation to create a welcoming, mission-aligned experience Employee relations & HR operations — supporting employees and leaders while maintaining accurate records, and assisting with day-to-day HR needs Leave administration — managing leave requests with accuracy, compliance, and compassionate communication You’ll partner closely with another HR Generalist who leads reporting and analytics — together, you’ll keep our HR engine running strong. Who You Are Energized by a full, meaningful workload Detail-driven and proud of producing accurate, high-quality work A natural relationship-builder who earns trust quickly Autonomous and accountable — you take full ownership of your work and follow it through with care Clear, warm, and professional in your communication Motivated by mission-driven work that directly supports resident care What You’ll Love Here A small, supportive HR team that collaborates and celebrates wins A role with variety — no two days look the same Opportunities to grow your HR skills across multiple areas Work that directly impacts the employee and resident experience Benefits Built to Support You: Health, dental, vision and supplemental benefits to support your health. Vacation and holiday pay because you deserve time to relax and recharge. Tuition assistance because we believe in the investment of your growth and success. 401(k) savings and investment plan to prepare for your future. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration or related field and/or relevant experience preferred PHR, SPHR, SHRM-SCP or SHRM-CP certification preferred Excellent verbal and written communication skills with working knowledge of HR policies, state and federal laws and regulations Proficient with Microsoft Office products preferred A current, valid license to operate a vehicle in the state of Maine and a driving record that is satisfactory to the company Must complete a criminal history record check to the satisfaction of the company
