Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE:

The HR Lead will provide strategic and operational HR leadership across the UK and EMEA region while maintaining hands-on responsibility for their own portfolio of HR initiatives. This role will oversee a small HR team of approximately five professionals, ensuring that HR programs and policies are implemented effectively and consistently. The successful candidate will act as a trusted partner to business leaders, supporting a defined business unit while also driving broader regional HR strategies. The role will report directly to the HR Director – UK & EMEA.

They work intimately with the Global Relay Leadership team on initiatives such as performance management, career development, compensation & benefits, and recruitment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and develop a high-performing HR team, providing guidance, coaching and support to ensure operational excellence.
  • Conduct weekly 1:1 with team members and annual performance reviews.
  • Serve as the primary HR business partner for a defined business unit within EMEA, taking ownership of all HR matters for that unit.
  • Drive end-to-end HR processes including talent management, performance management, workforce planning, and employee engagement.
  • Provide hands-on support in areas such as recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and HR policy implementation.
  • Partner with regional and global HR colleagues to ensure data accuracy and integrity, as well as consistency in HR programs and compliance with local employment laws.
  • Assist in HR compliance audits and prepare evidence.
  • Identify and implement initiatives that enhance employee experience and strengthen organizational culture across the region.
  • Analyze HR metrics and provide actionable insights to leadership.
  • Support organizational change initiatives, including recruitment, promotions and succession planning.
