LEAVE OF ABSENCE (LOA) SPECIALIST

Location: Moreno Valley (Fully Onsite)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM or 7:00 AM–3:30 PM
Type: Temp-to-Hire
Pay: $29.40/hr

We are looking for a dedicated Leave of Absence Specialist to join our Human Resources team in Moreno Valley. In this vital role, you will be responsible for managing the entire LOA process from start to finish, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations while supporting employees through their leave journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer and manage the full lifecycle of employee leaves of absence (no third-party administration).
  • Interpret and explain company LOA policies and procedures to employees and managers.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal and state LOA laws, including FMLA, ADA, and CFRA.
  • Evaluate leave requests, verify eligibility, and ensure all required documentation is submitted.
  • Handle accommodation requests and employee restrictions with sensitivity and legal accuracy.
  • Coordinate with HR, payroll, benefits, and legal teams to ensure seamless leave administration.
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of all LOA cases and communications.
  • Provide continuous support and clear communication to employees throughout their leave.
  • Partner with managers to address staffing needs and facilitate return-to-work plans.
  • Recommend and assist with process improvements related to LOA administration.

Qualifications:

  • In-depth knowledge of federal and state leave laws (FMLA, ADA, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of workplace accommodations and employee restrictions.
  • Experience independently managing LOA processes from start to finish.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to provide compassionate and clear guidance.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple leave cases simultaneously.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $28.00 - $29.00 per hour
