Location: Bundall / Stapylton, Gold Coast

Reporting to: Chief Operating Officer

About ARRC

ARRC Gold Coast is responsible for leading the delivery of a world-class energy and resource recovery precinct for the Gold Coast, turning waste into valuable resources and delivering long-term environmental, social and economic benefits for the community.

ARRC has a diverse and growing workforce across corporate, professional, project and operational environments, including employees within resource recovery and processing facilities. We are entering an important period of operational growth and expansion.

The Opportunity

This is a genuine HR leadership role where you will shape ARRC’s people strategy, workforce capability and industrial and employee relations approach.

Reporting to the COO, you will lead ARRC’s human resources and industrial relations function, providing trusted, practical and commercially considered advice to the Executive Leadership Team, managers and operational leaders.

You will be equally comfortable managing complex employee and industrial relations matters, preparing the organisation for future workforce growth, and coaching managers and supervisors through live people matters.

This role is focused on HR leadership, industrial and employee relations, workforce planning, organisational capability, governance and culture. It is not a payroll processing, routine HR administration or end-to-end recruitment delivery role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement people, workforce and organisational change strategies aligned to ARRC’s Corporate Strategy, Operational Plan and future growth.
  • Lead complex employee and industrial relations matters, including performance, conduct, grievances, disciplinary processes and workplace investigations.
  • Provide authoritative, practical advice on employment legislation, modern awards, employment conditions, classifications, rostering, hours of work, overtime, allowances and consultation obligations.
  • Lead workforce planning, organisational design, role design and organisational change initiatives across corporate, project and operational functions.
  • Prepare ARRC’s workforce and industrial arrangements for future operational growth, including workforce mobilisation, insourcing and future bargaining requirements where required.
  • Develop and maintain HR policies, employment frameworks, remuneration practices and governance arrangements.
  • Build manager and supervisor capability through practical coaching on live people matters, performance conversations and early resolution of workplace issues.
  • Lead performance management, talent, succession and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Deliver workforce reporting, risk analysis and strategic people insights to the Executive Leadership Team and People, Culture & Remuneration Committee.
  • Maintain a visible and trusted HR presence across ARRC’s processing and operational facilities.
