We are looking for an HR Manager to manage the delivery of regional HR operations support and services for a team of HR Advisors who provide support to internal customers. Provides site support to deliver cyclical HR processes, and implementation of site, BU and region-specific initiatives. Have broad HR knowledge and expertise to enable leader coaching, to drive efficiency and improvement in a globally aligned and centralized HR services model.
People Services is a human resource function that provides alignment and support to the Rio Tinto Group. The team is responsible for recruitment, talent, employee relations, HR information systems, pension and benefits, performance management, compensation, and capability development services.

Working 5 days on /2 off rosters and reporting to the Senior Manager, HR, Minerals, you will be:

  • Partnering with internal client groups on their business plans and identifying necessary Human Resources initiatives to support those plans
  • Monitoring Human Resources trends to identify potential gaps and proactively developing strategies to address those gaps
  • Managing and developing the performance of the regional HR Advisory team in line with Rio Tinto’s company values, in order to achieve objectives
  • Implementing Human Resource reporting and metrics and escalating emerging issues/themes with a focus on using data to drive problem solving and decision-making
  • Managing the delivery of HR projects in an effort to align with global HR predominant practice
  • Consulting with company leadership on Human Resources issues and challenges
Responsibilities

To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Industrial Relations, or a related field
  • Proven managerial experience and extensive and progressive experience in Human Resources and Employee Relations
  • Expertise in managing complex HR projects
  • CHRP designation preferred
  • Energetic and dynamic personality, able to challenge the status quo, think creatively, and voice improvements opportunities
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Fluency in English, written and spoken and basic knowledge in French. As Rio Tinto is a global company, this role requires daily collaboration with colleagues, teams, or partners outside Quebec. Bilingualism is an asset
