Human Resources Manager Term Contract with potential to be extended another term
Location: Winnipeg, Manitoba
We are looking for an experienced HR professional to oversee all aspects of human resources for a busy, multi-site operation. This term leadership role combines both strategic initiatives and hands-on responsibilities to ensure effective people management, compliance, and workforce development across Canada and the United States.

  • Relocation to Winnipeg at your cost; however, our client is open to seeing candidates from other provinces wanting to move to Winnipeg for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership, coaching, and support to the HR team to ensure growth, accountability, and strong performance
  • Partner with department heads and supervisors on performance management, employee engagement, and staff development
  • Act as the main contact for union representatives, interpreting collective agreements, managing grievances, and supporting workplace investigations
  • Ensure compliance with Canadian and U.S. employment legislation, policies, and internal procedures
  • Oversee compensation programs, including salary reviews and benchmarking activities
  • Support recruitment efforts, onboarding, and workforce planning for both unionized and non-unionized groups
  • Organize employee engagement activities and recognition programs to strengthen workplace culture
  • Maintain organized HR records, reports, and documentation
  • Work closely with other HR departments
  • Travel as required to the USA. A Passport is required
  • A criminal record check will be completed before hire

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Post-secondary education in HR, business, or labour relations

  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience, including leadership responsibilities
  • Strong background in union environments with experience interpreting agreements and managing labour relations issues
