We are an award-winning hospitality business based in charming Little Chalfont, just 15 minutes from Rickmansworth. As part of our close-knit HR team of three incredible professionals, you’ll play a central role in shaping and driving our people operations. Your mission will focus on employee relations, leading training and development initiatives, and ensuring compliance with a sharp eye for detail.
If you are down-to-earth, dynamic, and ready to roll up your sleeves to get things done, we want you on our team! Let’s create a workplace that everyone loves to be part of. If this sounds like the perfect next step in your career, keep reading to find out more about this exciting role!

  • HR: 3 years (preferred
Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the People Team: Manage and guide the People/Support team to ensure effective HR operations.
  • Oversee HR Operations: Lead all HR functions, including developing and enforcing policies and procedures that comply with UK employment laws and regulations.
  • Ensure Compliance: Make sure all HR practices adhere to legal requirements and industry standards.
  • Update Policies Regularly: Keep our policies and procedures up-to-date to ensure fairness and compliance within the workplace.
  • Foster Strong Relationships: Build and maintain positive relationships across the business, offering support to both operational teams and individual team members.
  • Manage HR Systems: Oversee HR systems, ensuring accurate record-keeping and maintaining HR databases.
  • Support Organisational Change: Assist in driving change initiatives and development strategies within the business.
  • Lead Learning & Development: Design and deliver the Learning & Development plan, coordinating training activities across the organisation.
  • Deliver HR Training: Lead HR training sessions for team members to ensure effective knowledge-sharing and development.
  • Handle Ad-Hoc Tasks: Assist with other tasks as needed to support HR operations and business needs.

A BIT MORE ABOUT OUR FANTASTIC CULTURE AND THE ROLE…

  • Close-Knit Team, Big Impact: We are not a small business, but we are a ‘small’ yet mighty ‘central’ team. There is cross pollination across teams, and you have to be prepared to roll up your sleeves and take ownership of your tasks.
  • Dynamic Environment: You need to know before you apply that working in a business of our size is very different to a big corporate – the skills that make you successful in each setting differ. That is why being a part of a dynamic, growing business is exceptionally fun but also challenging.
  • Balancing the Now and the Future: This role requires a forward-thinking mindset. You will need to keep an eye on the present while planning ahead to ensure we meet the needs of today and tomorrow.
  • Growth-Minded: We are looking for someone eager to work hard, go the extra mile, and invest in their future with us. If you are looking to develop your career, this is the place to do it.
  • Tech-Savvy: We love technology! If you are confident with Excel and always looking for new tools to improve processes, you will fit right in. We are all about leveraging technology to support our people teams.
  • Development Focus: You will play a key role in the professional development of your two direct reports, ensuring they are supported and growing within the business.
  • Supportive Environment: You will have the support of the team to be successful. Your line manager will be on a form of maternity leave for the first 6-9 months so the Founder will be your day-to-day contact
  • Alignment with Leadership: You will work closely with the SMT and owners of Culinera and Thomas & Tate to ensure the work is aligned to both brand identities and cultures
  • Office-Centric Culture: We believe in working with people – therefore we do not have a work from home culture. You must be prepared to come to the office 5 days a week, although we appreciate it is good to work from home on occasion.

At Culinera and Thomas & Tate, we believe work should be enjoyable and rewarding, and that is why we make sure to bring the fun to Base Camp every day! Here is what you can look forward to:

  • A Collaborative, Friendly Team: We are all about chatting, collaborating, and getting things done together. It is a relaxed atmosphere where everyone’s ideas are valued.
  • Office Lunches: Regular, company-paid shared lunches (who doesn’t love free food?) or orders from local takeaways.
  • Pub Visits: Enjoy a well-earned drink after work with team trips to the pub.
  • Team Adventures: We don’t just work hard—we play hard too! Last Christmas, we whisked the team off to Brussels for a long weekend.
  • Foodie Fun: From food safaris in London to attending award events, we have got plenty of exciting outings.
  • Evening Events: We like to unwind together, past trips to include Trivet, The Devonshire, Flight Club, Top Golf, and more.
  • The Office Vibe: We keep it lively with music or the radio playing in our open-plan office (with quiet zones for focus time, of course).
  • Unlimited Refreshments: Enjoy endless soft drinks and proper coffee/hot drinks to keep you fuelled throughout the day.
  • Shopping Requests: Need something specific? We do weekly shops with bespoke requests, so you will always have what you want…within reason
  • Top-Notch Technology: We equip you with the latest tools to keep you productive and efficient.
