Foundation 92 (‘F92’) is the official charity of Salford City FC and The Class of 92. Working throughout Greater Manchester, Foundation 92 is proud to deliver a wide and diverse range of high quality, high impact, sustainable health improvement and physical education provision, across a range of sectors including; Youth Sessions, Sectors, Travel Networks, Interchanges and Community settings.
As the HR Manager, this role will ensure our commitment to the highest standards and provide a safe and supportive experience for all employees, charity partners and participants.
The role will provide a professional HR service and support to the charity, manage caseloads across a wide range of HR matters and support in recruitment and retention of employees.
The role is also responsible for the accurate implementation and processing of transactional activities across the employee life cycle.
You will guide and coach managers to best support their teams, including health and wellbeing, talent management, retention, performance, and employee relations matters.
This role will be key in maintaining a positive culture within the organisation, providing technical HR advice and working positively to resolve problems and achieve business focused outcomes.
All post holders will be required to complete an Enhanced DBS clearance prior to the commencement of employment.
· The main responsibilities of post holders are as follows;
o Key contact for HR queries for employees and managers, providing a proactive customer response and ensuring HR processes are correctly applied.
o Manage HR processes including safer recruitment, sickness/absence, and structural changes.
o Provide professional HR advice on a range of HR matters including absence management, disciplinary, grievance, performance management/capability cases and redundancy/severance, etc.
o Work on organisational development projects including workforce planning and job design including TUPEs, restructures, and role profiles.
o Manage and implement HR projects and initiatives, finding creative and innovative ways to improve services and implement change.
o Maintain a strong, positive relationship with managers and staff, acting as the key HR contact for day-to-day queries, negotiations and case updates.
o Interpret and advise on relevant employment legislation and HR policies advising on options, taking into account risk and mitigation.
o Deliver workshops and training on HR policies and procedures and coach managers.
o Support the process for employee and contractual documentation including starters, leavers and variations, ensuring accuracy and that payroll deadlines are met.
o Support the implementation of employee data and the systems to ensure accuracy and compliance, reporting trends and themes to senior management.
o Take responsibility to support the recruitment of all roles within the charity.
o Work with management team to ensure safer recruitment processes are followed including pre-employment checks and onboarding activities.
o End to end responsibility for all HR matters including disciplinary, investigations and absence management.

Person Specification:

  • Strong proactive approach and case management skills working in partnership with management to provide business focused outcomes.
  • Business awareness with high levels of solutions focused problem solving.
  • Excellent knowledge of employment law, HR practices, organisational policies and procedure.
  • Experience of working in a generalist role ensuring positive relations and compliance in a busy organisation
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to influence and manage change effectively.
  • Plan, organise, direct, control and evaluate the operations of human resources or personnel departments,
  • Plan human resource requirements in conjunction with other departmental Managers.
  • Ensure that Managers and staff are trained in the company polices relating to employees.
  • Ensure that Managers are applying consistent approach in tackling issues.
  • Manage complex employee issues including dispute resolution, disciplinary, grievances, absence and redundancy.
  • Advise and assist other departmental managers on interpretation and administration of policies and procedures.
  • Develop HR policies and procedures to drive the right behaviours and performance and mitigate possible issues.
  • Ensure compliance with legislation such as the Employment Standards.
  • Ensure keep yourself up to date with legislation changes and case law that affects company practice and relay to Management for consideration.
  • Continually review the company salaried and benefits aimed at obtaining and retaining the right people for the business.

We are looking for an experienced individual who will have a visible and impactful presence to enhance a positive HR culture across the charity. You will have a demonstrable background in HR and have a successful track record of making a positive difference. Ideally you will have an understanding of managing cases.
You will have a proactive, person-centred approach and have the ability to work well with others to support, guide and advise colleagues. You be approachable with excellent communication and interpersonal skills and will be able to adapt your style to the audience. This role has a broad reach and we are looking for someone with the ability to work alongside all levels of the charity.
With your excellent planning and organisational skills, you will be able to effectively manage and deliver a diverse workload to shape a culture of HR excellence. You will have a high level of integrity with the ability to deal with sensitive and confidential matters with a positive and solution focused attitude.

Essentials:

  • A recognised professional HR qualification and/or verified experience in a similar role. You will demonstrate knowledge and understanding of current legislation, guidance, and best practice in HR. You will be able to demonstrate experience of effective case management and managing HR cases.
  • A proven track record of successfully working to promote robust HR practices including making suitable recommendations, developing interventions and implementing procedures, to embed a culture of HR.
  • Work flexibly to meet the demands of the role, to be able to provide support to colleagues, where required. This means you may be required to work out of hours in the evenings, weekends as needed to ensure urgent matters are dealt with swiftly.
  • This role is subject to an Enhanced DBS check.

Pay: £29,000.00-£32,000.00 per year
