Responsibilities:
YOUR ROLE:
The HR Manager Germany will oversee all aspects of Human Resources management for approximately 700 employees in Germany (location split: ~ 500 in Gernsheim, ~120 in Darmstadt, ~ 80 in Frankfurt Höchst), while acting as HR coordinator across multiple European countries with smaller employee populations (ranging from 1 to <10 employees per country). The ideal candidate will have basic understanding and experience across HR areas from operations to talent management and a deep understanding of German labor laws and experience in labor relations. Furthermore, experience in HR vendor management and HR post-merger integration is highly desirable. Part of your responsabilities are: Oversee all HR functions for the German workforce, including employee relations, performance management, compensation and benefits, and compliance with local labor laws, serve as the primary HR contact for German employees ensuring alignment with business objectives and legal compliance as well as to manage and foster relationships with works councils, unions, and other labor representatives, ensuring constructive labor relations and compliance with collective agreements.
Implement and manage external HR vendors utilized to run HR in Germany, review and significantly simplify collective agreements with a target picture fit for purpose for a mid-sized company in the chemical industry as well as to act as a central internal point of coordination for European HR matters, aligning policies and practices across the region ensuring compliance with local labor laws and regulations.
THIS ROLE IS SUBJECT TO A TRANSFER TO GNMI WITH THE BUSINESS UNIT IN AUGUST.
Who you are:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- At least 8–10 years of progressive HR experience, with a strong focus on German labor laws and labor relations.
- Demonstrated experience in HR vendor management and working in international or matrixed environments.
- Proven expertise in managing post-merger integration and driving organizational change.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and partner with stakeholders at all levels.Fluency in German and English (both written and spoken).
- Willingness to travel occasionally within Europe and more regularly between the 3 locations in Germany (all close, no major distance)
