About the Role

This is a hands-on HR Manager role that blends day-to-day delivery with genuine strategic input. You will own the practical HR function, be the person our people and directors go to for anything HR, and lead a small support team, while also shaping HR strategy, performance and development, and workforce planning alongside leadership. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will have real ownership of a broad remit.

It suits someone who leads from within the work rather than from a distance. If you are a HR Business Partner ready to step up, or an established HR Manager who values being close to the detail while still contributing at a strategic level, this is a role you can make your own.

What You Will Do:    

  • Own the day-to-day HR function as the visible, trusted point of contact across the firm  
  • Lead and develop a small HR support team  
  • Manage employee relations and grievances, including sensitive staff and manager matters  
  • Oversee recruitment, contracts, HR documentation and the annual review and  
  • remuneration process  
  • Lead performance, development and learning, including coaching and career pathways  
  • Maintain and build on the firm's established HR committees, policies and programs  
  • Manage HR compliance and WHS  
  • Contribute HR strategy, workforce planning and people insight to leadership

About You:  

  • An experienced, hands-on HR generalist, comfortable owning the full day-to-day workload as well as contributing strategically  
  • A strong track record across employee relations, grievances, contracts, policy and remuneration  
  • A degree-level qualification in HR, business or a related discipline  
  • Sound knowledge of employment law and HR best practice  
  • Comfortable working with HR systems and data  
  • Organised and dependable, with a natural ability to bring order and keep things running well  
  • Warm, approachable and collaborative, and comfortable being the visible face of HR  
  • Genuine capability and fit matter more to us than years served

Nice to Have:  

  • Experience in a professional services or similar environment  
  • People strategy, culture or engagement experience, and a real interest in proactive people  
  • initiatives  
  • Confidence using people and culture data to give useful insight to leadership  
  • Experience coaching or developing junior HR support staff
