JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Human Resources Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of human resources practices and processes, ensuring the organization attracts, retains, and develops top talent. This role requires a strong understanding of HR management, employee relations, and change management to foster a positive workplace culture.
This role is with a leading international organization in the natural resources and heavy industry sector, backed by one of the world’s top global conglomerates.
The corporate office is located in downtown Montréal, and the company also operates large-scale mining sites in Northern Quebec (near Schefferville) and Newfoundland & Labrador. The position follows a hybrid model (4 days in office, 1 day remote), and occasional travel to the mining site(s) will be required.
As an HR Manager, you will be a key partner in recruitment, employee relations, training & development, and organizational growth. This role offers the chance to work at both the corporate and operational levels, making an impact across the organization.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a solid HR strategic plan for talent acquisition
  • Develop recruitment and best employment strategies for Fly In/Fly out (FIFO) and corporate office employee,

foster employee engagement

  • Provide consultation to the line manager on coaching and career development
  • Maintain a thorough understanding and knowledge of legal requirements to ensure regulatory compliance

and reduce legal risks

  • Resolve employee issues and grievances and conduct unbiased investigations
  • Suggest new HR strategies, policies, and agenda for continuous improvement
  • Monitor and report on workforce and succession planning
  • Build credibility with internal clients and stakeholders by providing insight and guidance on HR or broader

business issues

  • Develop performance driven culture using performance and development management systems
  • Drive employee performance/excellence through organizational development programs
  • Address employee relations concerns and questions
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and respect employee confidentiality

Your Qualifications

types of industrial/mining positions

  • Familiarity with Applicant Tracking Systems and HRIS programs
  • Solid knowledge of sourcing techniques (e.g. social media recruiting and Boolean search)
  • Undergraduate degree in Human Resources Management or relevant discipline, an asset.
  • Experience in the Mining, Oil and Gas, or Heavy Industry sectors on remote sites would be an asset as well,

specifically in Newfoundland & Labrador or Northern Canada.

  • Fluently bilingual – excellent communication skills in both English and French are a MUST requirement.

Pay: $102,871.16-$135,863.55 per year
