THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL BRING:

  • MCIPD or equivalent professional qualification
  • Extensive knowledge of UK employment and equality legislation
  • Proven experience in managing complex ER cases within a busy HR function
  • Strong communication, influencing, and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to analyse HR data, draw insights, and make evidence-based recommendations
  • Flexible, pragmatic, and able to work under pressure to meet multiple deadlines
    Previous experience within a higher education setting would be advantageous, but is not essential.

Responsibilities
  • Managing core ER processes including disciplinary, grievance, performance, redundancy, and more
  • Providing expert advice to managers and staff on employment legislation, policies, and best practice
  • Leading policy creation, review, and implementation to ensure compliance and clarity
  • Acting as the HR lead on complex ER cases, ensuring timely, fair, and effective resolution
  • Supporting UKVI compliance and advising on visas and immigration matters
  • Championing wellbeing initiatives and contributing to our Welfare Strategy
  • Analysing HR data and case trends to recommend proactive interventions
