Ready to shape the people strategy of a growing business?

Macildowie is partnering with an established and growing organisation in Nottingham to recruit an ambitious HR Manager / Head of HR.

With around 230 employees, a strong workplace culture and excellent staff retention, this is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of the HR agenda, influence senior leadership and help shape the next stage of the business’s growth.

The Opportunity

Reporting into senior leadership, you’ll combine strategic influence with hands-on HR leadership, managing an established team and driving meaningful improvements across the organisation.

You’ll have the autonomy to challenge existing thinking, strengthen leadership capability and build a forward-thinking HR function that supports long-term commercial success.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Developing and delivering a commercially focused HR strategy.
  • Leading, coaching and developing an established HR team.
  • Partnering with senior leaders to influence business decisions and organisational priorities.
  • Driving leadership development, succession planning and management capability.
  • Supporting business growth, organisational change and transformation.
  • Overseeing employee relations, HR operations, policies and procedures.
  • Championing an inclusive, supportive culture while introducing greater structure and accountability.

What We’re Looking For

You’ll be an experienced HR professional operating at HR Manager, Head of HR or HR Director level, with a strong generalist background and the confidence to influence at senior level.

You’ll bring:

  • Experience working in an SME, scaling business or evolving organisation.
  • A balance of strategic thinking and practical HR delivery.
  • Experience leading and developing an HR team.
  • Strong stakeholder management and leadership development skills.
  • The ability to support organisational change and commercial growth.
  • A CIPD qualification or equivalent professional experience.
