INTRODUCTION

We are seeking an organised and proactive HR Officer (Maternity Cover) to provide comprehensive administrative support across all areas of the employee lifecycle. This role will act as a first point of contact for colleagues, ensuring effective HR service delivery, accurate record keeping, and a positive employee experience. Working closely with the HR Business Partners and wider People Team, the role will contribute to the smooth running of HR operations and help drive engagement and compliance.

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a manufacturing site, we are committed to providing regular and accessible People Team presence. This position is therefore required to be on-site 5 days per week, working 9am – 5pm (Monday – Thursday) and 9am – 4.15pm (Friday).
This is a full time role for 38 hours per week.
Salary is £27,000 (FTE)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THE ROLE ARE (FULL JOB DESCRIPTION AVAILABLE ON REQUEST):

  • Act as first point of contact for all people related enquiries.
  • Provide general HR administration support across the employee lifecycle, including, but not limited to; preparing offer letters, contract templates, probation letters, and starter leaver documentation.
  • Administer central inboxes – which could include; responding to references, answering general enquiries, cascading information to recruiting managers, People Team Colleagues, and Payroll.
  • Maintain and update personnel records aligned with GDPR and employment legislation compliance, including right to work checks.
  • Administration of our HRIS (Workday) and time management system (Mitre Finch).
  • Collation and analysis of HR management information.
  • Support HR functional excellence and cultural enhancement initiatives.
  • Assist the HR Business Partners with creative communication content for site newsletters.
  • Support site induction and onboarding processes, ensuring new employees feel fully integrated.
  • Provide general HR and administrative support as required.
