ENABLE ENGINEERING TRANSFORMATION AT HUXLEY BERTRAM

Huxley Bertram Engineering Limited is looking for an experienced and capable HR Officer to coordinate its HR function. This is a unique opportunity to lead the HR activities in a successfully developing manufacturing / engineering company, near Cambridge. This role will suit someone with good HR experience who works well collaboratively with others. For the right candidate, the role will be either full-time or part-time at 4 days per week.

WHO YOU ARE

We’re looking for an experienced and capable HR Officer. Here’s a snapshot of the qualities we seek:

  • A degree in Human Resources, or similar
  • A minimum of 3 years proven work experience in HR
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with people at different levels, including senior staff members
  • Proven leadership ability, able to lead change projects
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills
  • Working knowledge of HR systems and software
  • Willingness to embrace Office 365 productivity tools, and similar
  • The ability to research, analyse, and make logical decisions within a given timeframe
  • The ability to develop trusting relationships with relevant stakeholders
  • Highly organised with excellent problem-solving skills
Responsibilities

As HR Officer, you’ll be responsible for co-ordinating our HR activities. Key responsibilities include:

  • Answering all Human Resources queries posed by management and employees
  • Supporting Line Managers with general performance and development using our employee appraisal system
  • Coordinating the staff training programme across the business
  • Evaluating and updating job descriptions and other internal documentation and policies
  • Using HR software to record and process data on employees, ensuring compliance with GDPR
  • Monitoring and reporting on HR metrics such as retention rates, absence data, and training requirements according to business needs
  • Assisting and advising on strategies for recruitment
  • Managing the onboarding, offboarding, and all other aspects of employment processes
  • Providing HR data to payroll
  • Pension, critical illness and life insurance administration
  • Developing the HR function suitable within the company
