Description

The Human Resources Department plays a vital role supporting the College through the delivery of the People Strategy.
We are looking for a passionate and experienced generalist HR practitioner who is a graduate member of the CIPD, or willing to achieve Level 5 CIPD qualification, to join our team as HR Officer. You will contribute towards the delivery of the College’s employee relations service including managing a caseload; liaising with the occupational health provider and the unions; and supporting staff engagement activities. In addition, using your business and HR acumen you will be assigned a number of key managers to support through an HR business partner relationship. This is an exciting career progression opportunity for a forward thinking individual to join our Team. You will have good written and verbal communication skills.
At Preston College our vision is ‘to transform lives through education’, and we take great pride in supporting all of our learners to achieve the qualifications they need, alongside the development of technical skills and knowledge that employers and universities are looking for.
We are rated Good by Ofsted and are the only College in Lancashire to have been recognised as making a ‘strong’ contribution to skills. We are ambitious in seeking excellent outcomes for our students, communities, employers and staff.

We have a strong College culture, underpinned by five key values developed with our diverse body of staff;

  • Welcoming and inclusive
  • Supportive and compassionate
  • Aspirational for our learners, ourselves and each other
  • Act with integrity and transparency
  • Be accountable

With Good financial health, the College provides generous terms and conditions that are intended to attract, motivate and retain the best people in delivery of our strategic objectives.
Our Board of Governors is committed to an ambitious Three Year Plan, which sets out our aspirations from 2023 to 2026.

ABOUT US:

Our mission is to inspire, educate and support our diverse community to reach its potential. We pride ourselves on our community focus, with a diverse mix of students and staff, and plan our curriculum and other activities to give everyone the chance to truly achieve what they are capable of. We believe that we are inspirational in what we do, and that the support we offer to both our students and our staff is second to none.
