Your function: We’re seeking a Team Leader – HR Operations, Asia Pacific (APAC) to join our Global HR Operations team. In this position, you'll lead the delivery, optimization and continuous improvement of HR Operations services delivery and projects across Australia, New Zealand, Korea, Singapore and India. Your responsibilities will include overseeing our HR Operations function, which includes Payroll Management, HR Administration, Recruitment Coordination, Compliance, Regulatory Reporting and Project Management. A key component of this role is the multi-year implementation of a new payroll system, including leading a full RFP process, vendor selection, and phased regional deployment. Leading a regional team, you'll work closely with Local HR and Global Centers of Expertise (COEs) to ensure timely, compliant and people-focused HR Operational services. This hands-on role is ideal for a seasoned HR Operations leader who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced and culturally diverse environment and is motivated by transforming processes and enabling stronger employee experience outcomes. Day to day: Team & Service Delivery Leadership Represent the APAC region within the Global HR Operations Leadership Team and contribute regional insights to shape global strategies and drive cross-regional collaboration. Act as a regional point of escalation for complex HR Operations queries and manage issue resolution through the HR Helpdesk. Lead and coach the APAC HR Operations team, including setting priorities, performance management, development planning and team engagement. Promote a high-performance culture built on accountability, inclusion and continuous improvement. Oversee end to end payroll operations, ensuring accurate, timely and compliant payroll across multiple APAC jurisdictions and pro-active payroll vendor management Collect data relating to HR queries submitted through the HR Helpdesk to assess and report on service quality, efficiency and employee satisfaction, and to proactively drive process improvements. Partner with Local HR Business Partners, COEs, HR Technology, Business Leaders, and external vendors to actively shape the HR Operations roadmap in alignment with the overall People and HR strategy. Drive the regional vision and strategy of these initiatives and identify process improvements. Translate complex HR operational concepts into practical solutions for a range of internal stakeholders. Build and maintain strong relationships with regional external HR vendors, ensuring delivery to agreed service standards and managing escalations when required. Participate in vendor performance reviews and contribute to strategic planning discussions. Other duties as assigned or requested. Payroll Transformation & Project Management Lead the full RFP process for the region’s new payroll system, including requirements gathering, vendor evaluation, selection and contract alignment. Drive the multi‑year implementation of the new payroll solution across APAC: managing project timelines, dependencies, change impact, testing, data conversion, system configuration, training and transition. Act as regional project owner, partnering closely with HR Technology, Finance, Risk, Legal and external vendors to ensure successful delivery. Build and maintain detailed project plans, progress reporting, risk logs and executive updates. Champion adoption of new systems and processes across all countries, ensuring a smooth transition for managers, employees and HR stakeholders. Process Improvement & Technology Enablement Working with the relevant global process owners, ensure the implementation, and maintenance of standard operating procedures across the region, aligned with global processes. Identify and implement opportunities to simplify processes, improve data accuracy and reduce manual administrative tasks. Promote the successful adoption of One HR and the operational elements of other Global HR initiatives in the APAC region. Partner with the HR Technology teams to support system enhancements, data quality and reporting needs. Track HR metrics and service delivery data to identify trends and support data-driven decision-making. Compliance & Risk Management Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regional employment legislation, working with local HR to ensure ongoing compliance in all operational processes. Support audits, internal controls, compliance reviews and statutory reporting obligations. Identify and mitigate operational risks and ensure strong governance across HR Operations Your profile: A minimum of four to five years of experience in HR Operations, HR Shared Services, or broad HR Administration with regional responsibilities across the APAC region. Working knowledge of employment legislation in at least four of the following: Australia, New Zealand, Korea, Singapore, or India. Demonstrated leadership experience, including managing HR Shared Services/HR Operations teams and directly managing a Payroll Manager or similar role. Experience running an RFP process for HR or payroll technologies] Project management experience in full life-cycle HR transformation or systems implementation. Hands-on experience using one or more modern HRIS platforms, ideally Oracle HCM Cloud, Workday, or SAP SuccessFactors. Proficiency with a case management system such as ServiceNow or Zendesk, and experience managing SLA-based service models. Experience working with virtual or geographically dispersed teams. Exceptional attention to detail and strong organisational and time management skills. Proven ability to influence stakeholders and collaborate across a matrixed organisation. Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities across different time zones. Familiarity with the cultural and business norms across APAC countries. Beneficial requirements: Experience coordinating payroll and ensuring employment compliance across multiple APAC countries. At least one to two years of experience in team leadership, people management, or operational process ownership. Exposure to process optimisation methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma or similar). Experience implementing shared services or HR operating model changes Essentials: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to clearly translate complex topics for varied stakeholders Strong problem-solving capabilities and sound decision-making judgement. Ability to analyse HR data and translate insights into operational improvements. Comfortable working independently and proactively in a fast-paced environment. High degree of accuracy, confidentiality and sound judgement Experience of working effectively in complex, matrixed environments, across different countries, requiring use of influence and negotiation to build support for change and initiatives.
