The HR Operations Leader is responsible for leading the core processes that ensure the delivery of efficient, compliant, and people-centered HR services. This role oversees benefits administration, leave and workers’ compensation management, employee support, and policy execution. The Leader partners cross-functionally to streamline processes and owns the rhythm of HR operations—from compliance tracking to lifecycle planning—to ensure consistency, alignment, and an exceptional teammate experience.

  • Draft, revise, and maintain employment policies and teammate handbooks in alignment with current legislation
  • Develop and implement policy communication and training strategies to promote adoption and understanding

Benefits, Leave, & Workers’ Compensation Oversight

  • Oversee all aspects of benefits administration in collaboration with brokers and vendors
  • Lead benefits lifecycle mapping, ensuring teammates have a consistent, well-communicated experience from hire through exit
  • Manage leave of absence and reasonable accommodation processes, ensuring compliance with FMLA, ADA, and applicable regulations
  • Coordinate and oversee workers’ compensation claims, reporting, and return-to-work processes

Operational Excellence & Employee Support

  • Own and manage the ServiceNow HR ticketing system, ensuring timely assignment, resolution, and tracking of HR requests
  • Analyze ticket trends and service metrics to drive continuous improvement and teammate satisfaction
  • Oversee the tier-1 employee support team, providing guidance, escalation support, and process clarity
  • Maintain the employee e-filing and document management system in alignment with audit and survey standards
  • Manage background check vendor relationship and ensure accuracy in pre-employment compliance

HR Rhythm & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Serve as the HR operating rhythm owner, managing the cadence of audits, policy reviews, benefit renewals, and key HR processes throughout the year
  • Collaborate with Legal, Compliance, Payroll, and IT to ensure seamless integration of HR policies and systems
  • Partner with the broader HR team to align operations with broader people strategy and teammate experience goals
  • Lead or support enterprise-wide HR projects and process enhancement initiatives
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Leader Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a team of HR administrative specialists
  • Provide consistent coaching, feedback, and development opportunities
  • Ensure team readiness, training, and documentation coverage for business continuity
  • Promote a collaborative, people-first culture aligned with ASHN’s core beliefs and teammate experience expectations

  • Familiarity with HR systems (Workday), ticketing platforms (ServiceNow), and audit/compliance frameworks
  • Strong analytical, communication, and process improvement skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and develop HR team members while influencing cross-functional collaboration
  • High level of discretion when managing teammate data and confidential information
