About the Role The HR Technology Platform Lead is accountable for the stability, cohesion, and evolution of the organization’s Workday platform. While large-scale transformation initiatives are led by a dedicated transformation team, this role ensures architectural consistency, product integrity, and long-term coherence of the Workday landscape across all change initiatives. You will lead a team of approximately 20 professionals (internal employees, contractors, and vendor resources) and act as the single point of accountability for Workday IT services — covering BAU defect management, service requests, small enhancements, and cross-project solution alignment. This is a senior management role requiring strong platform ownership mindset, operational discipline, and the ability to protect solution integrity in a complex stakeholder environment. Function Global Digital & Technology About the team The People Value Stream is responsible for BAU operation as well as transformation projects related to systems and services supporting Diageo’s HR function. Within this remit, Workday is our “crown jewel” central HR platform. Role Overview The HR Technology Platform Lead is the single person technology owner of Workday as our core product. They will define the architecture’s direction, oversee engineering practices, and partner with other stakeholers to define the product roadmap. Also, they will direct the Workday daily operation for service requests, incident resolution, small enhancements, and also support and oversee technical resources allocated to major projects. Job Description: HR Technology Platform Lead Responsibilities: • People Management Direct a team of around 20 people, both employees and contractors Manage capacity Manage the capability evolution of the team • Platform Strategy Support technology strategy for HR services Define platform architecture principles • Engineering Leadership Define development and release practices improve quality, reliability, and speed • Architecture Ownership Own integrations and ecosystem architecture Guide configuration vs extension decisions • Platform Governance Ensure global standards Manage technical debt • Transformation Enable HR digital transformation initiatives • Stakeholder Management Represent the product to external stakeholders Act as internal Workday technology consultant Manage relevant vendors Our team is on a journey towards a improved Product operating model. Experience / skills required: Team leadership within the digital HR area (8+ years) and overall more than 10 years experience.
