Job Description The HR Business Partner is accountable for enabling manufacturing performance of a network of Plants through the implementation of the HR priorities and tools. This role builds capability in Plant HR teams and Plant Leadership to ensure that results are achieved through a culture focused on Safety, Quality, Service and Cost. SCOPE AND IMPACT AMN HR strategy and execution, to include significant organizational effectiveness, employee relations, legal compliance and labor relations accountabilities, across manufacturing/operations facilities in the U.S. and Canada. Strategic Business Partner to the Manufacturing/Operations functional leadership teams, to include Area Directors, Plant Managers and Plant Leadership Teams. Lead, manage and develop HR plant resources (manager or generalist level) through collaboration with Plant Managers. Responsibilities: Serve as HR strategic advisor for the Plant Managers and Leaders at the plant - partnering on a range of activities including leadership capability, performance management, employee engagement, labor relations and organizational structure. Coach, guide and educate leaders so they are fully capable and accountable to own, improve and accelerate business results. Collaborates with Human Resources Director and Area Operations Directors for consistency with company’s operational and plant strategies. Proactively provide data-driven workforce insights to enhance the business’ overall strategy and improve workforce effectiveness and performance. Apply knowledge of employment law and regulatory requirements and follow the appropriate controls to ensure O-I’s operations are compliant. Serve as an escalation point for complex employee relations cases, investigations and labor relations issues. Provide labor relations support at plant level with the responsibility for handling grievances through the final stages of the grievance procedure including preparation and participation in arbitration. Provide labor relations support for bargaining, preparation and related activities. Support union negotiations by leading side bar discussions, making company proposals, and preparing contract language changes for tentative agreements. Provides-training/support/expertis HR processes/programs/tools to plant HR and all leaders. Collaborate on recommendations for training and development. Participate in talent assessments, identify hi-potential talent and support plants in building their talent pipeline for critical roles. Support plant leadership with developing talent and managing poor performers. Build capability of Plant HR so they are a strategic partner to the Plant Manager and plant team. Qualifications Minimum 8+ years of experience in HR, preferably manufacturing and multi-site experience. Bachelor’s Degree in HR or business related field required. Master’s degree in Labor/Industrial relations, or Organizational Psychology preferred. PHR, SPHR, preferred. Experience in building relationships with Unions – including Arbitrations and Contract Negotiations. Ability to work at various levels of the organization to develop and influence the culture. Highly effective communication and negotiation skills. Experience leading change, action and results effectively. Successful experience creating and accelerating a high performance organization. Implementing strategies and plans for a human resources function. Attracting, developing and retaining outstanding talent. Implementing strategies and plans for a human resources function. Travel: 25-30% - plant visits, labor negotiations, arbitrations Additional Information What we offer at O-I: Salary Range: The expected salary range for this position is between $120,000 and $140,000 and includes a 15% STI. Actual pay will be adjusted based upon candidate experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
