Position Summary The HRIS Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day administration, accuracy, and maintenance of the organization’s Human Resources Information System (HRIS). This role serves as the system-of-record owner for employee data and supports HR operations across employee lifecycle transactions, benefits administration, leave tracking, timekeeping, compliance documentation, and reporting. The HRIS Specialist partners cross-functionally with Payroll, Finance, Benefits vendors, and managers to ensure HR data integrity and operational consistency. This position is execution-focused and does not set policy, make compensation decisions, or provide legal determinations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities HRIS Administration & Data Management Administer and maintain the HRIS (Paylocity), ensuring accurate and current employee records Process employee lifecycle transactions, including hires (e.g. background checks, i9s), terminations, and job or status changes Maintain job codes, positions, departments, and work location data Troubleshoot system issues related to timesheets, PTO, and leave status coding (PTO, LWOP, ADA-related leaves) Conduct routine audits to ensure data accuracy and consistency Payroll & Timekeeping Support (HRIS-Focused) Support payroll corrections by identifying HRIS-related issues and coordinating with Payroll Assist with PTO balance reconciliation, timesheet troubleshooting, and timekeeping inquiries Support managers with timekeeping requests in accordance with HR processes Benefits & Leave Administration (System-Supported) Support benefits enrollment, eligibility, and status changes within the HRIS Interpret carrier communications (e.g., Unum, PFL, STD) and translate them into required system actions Support system setup and maintenance related to benefits and vendor integrations Administer system-based setup and tracking for ADA, FMLA, STD, and PFL leaves Track provider certifications and ensure accurate leave coding and documentation Draft and manage routine, operational communications with leave and benefits providers Reporting, Compliance & Documentation Pull HRIS reports related to employee status, benefits participation, and enrollment Validate job and employee data for audit readiness Produce employee-specific reports for compliance and administrative needs Support responses to compliance-related requests (e.g., income withholding orders) Ensure HRIS records align with internal policies and benefits guide Requirements Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field 3–5 years of experience supporting HRIS platforms, preferably Paylocity Working knowledge of HR operations, benefits administration, leave management, and timekeeping systems Strong attention to detail and data accuracy Ability to interpret vendor and payroll guidance and apply it within HR systems Clear written and verbal communication skills EEO Statement: Miriam’s Kitchen is an equal opportunity employer.
