This is a new and exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and self-motivated technician to join the NHS GGC Prescribing Team and lead on the delivery and development of the pharmacotherapy service, medicines compliance service and care home service. You will be responsible for leading on service developments, operational planning, workforce planning and budget management. This role will be pivotal to ensure the ongoing progression of the education and development for pharmacy technicians and prescribing support workers in primary care to ensure we continue to maximise our development of the pharmacy technical team across NHS GGC
As a senior member of the Prescribing Team you will have an important role in promoting and implementing costeffective and evidence based prescribing across GP practices and Care Homes within NHS GGC. This role will involve working with GPs and the primary care multidisciplinary teams to improve medicines management and deliver excellent patient care. This post requires excellent leadership/ management skills including communication, negotiation, organisational and IT skills along with the ability to influence and affect change.
This is an opportunity to develop your career in Primary Care working with multi-disciplinary teams, particularly GP Practices, Community Pharmacies, Care Homes and across other care settings. Experience of working in Primary Care or as part of a multi-disciplinary team is desirable.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Registered as a pharmacy technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council (including evidence of continuing professional development)
  • SQA National Certificate in Pharmaceutical Sciences/ PDA-Assessment of individual patients medicines or equivalent
  • S(N)VQ Level 3- Pharmacy Services
  • Diploma in specialist pharmaceutical area/clinical qualification or degree in a relevant area
  • HNC Pharmaceutical Sciences or equivalent
  • Management qualification or equivalent experience
