  3. To maintain the vehicle by carrying out daily checks that has to be logged, reporting those to the supervisor/deputy manager.

  5. Make sure the vehicle is clean and is filled with fuel.

    Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust is an integrated Trust and the only provider of NHS acute care in Walsall, serving a population of 284,300, providing inpatient and outpatient services at the Manor Hospital as well as a wide range of services in the community. Walsall Manor houses the full range of district general hospital services under one roof. The £170 million development was completed in 2010 and the continued upgrading of existing areas ensures the Trust now has a state-of-the-art Critical Care Unit, Neonatal Unit, Obstetric Theatre, and Integrated Assessment Unit facilities.
    A new Urgent Emergency Care Centre was opened in March 2023. The two-storey development has significantly improved emergency care facilities and capacity and has provided almost 5,000 square metres of additional clinical space.

  17. Driver will have to have external training before use of tug truck
  18. Will be expected to use their own judgement when carrying out the role as lone worker. This could include changing times of deliveries to clinics on and off site, Theatres, which could mean cancelling a delivery slot.
  19. Plan the events of each day due to adhoc requirements from users
  20. Trained on how to use spillage kit when out in the vehicle.
  21. Will need to be able to push and pull heavy loads on an off the vehicle
  22. Will be trained in cleaning, packing and sterilisation of instruments
  23. Preparation for washing contaminated medical devices which include dismantling of complex instrumentation in accordance of manufacturer’s instructions and HTM guidelines.
  24. Inspection of medical devices and other associated equipment for cleanliness, functionability, completeness, assembly and identification against tray specification lists.
  25. Wrapping of instrumentation sets and other surgical equipment in accordance with HTM guidelines and HSDU policies and procedures
