HSE ADVISOR / CONTRACTOR - NORTH SLOPE PROJECT (12-MONTH ASSIGNMENT)

Location: North Slope, Alaska (rotational schedule, camp accommodations provided)
Duration: 12 months (with potential extension)
Rate: $65-80p/hr DOE

POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking an experienced HSE Advisor ( Contractor) to support a major North Slope oil & gas construction and operations project. This role will work closely with field teams to ensure compliance with company, client, and regulatory safety requirements, and to promote a strong safety culture in challenging Arctic conditions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 6 years of HSE experience, ideally including oil & gas, heavy civil, or industrial construction.
  • North Slope / remote Arctic work experience preferred
Responsibilities
  • Provide field-based health, safety, and environmental (HSE) support for construction, operations, and maintenance activities.
  • Conduct daily safety meetings, toolbox talks, and site orientations.
  • Perform field-level hazard assessments (JHAs/FLHAs) and ensure proper use of permit to work systems.
  • Lead or participate in incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action tracking (e.g., TapRooT, 5-Why).
  • Monitor site activities for compliance with OSHA, EPA, Alaska state, and company HSE policies.
  • Coordinate emergency preparedness drills and assist in emergency response planning.
  • Perform HSE audits, inspections, and observations; document findings and support corrective measures.
  • Support environmental compliance related to spill prevention, wildlife interactions, and waste management.
  • Promote cold-weather safety best practices and ensure proper PPE use.
  • Prepare HSE performance reports, metrics (e.g., TRIR, LTIR), and documentation as required.
