Description

Reporting to the Corporate HSE Manager, you will be responsible for all safety aspects within the organization by actively executing the day-to-day tasks of Centurion’s HSE systems. This position is committed to health, safety, and environmental excellence by ensuring corporate standards are upheld through a commitment to continual improvement to our HSE and ESG systems and programs. We achieve this with strong communication, organization, and through continual development and training of safe and competent staff and safety systems. Additionally, you will provide field support and ensure that safety policies are consistently followed during operations. Responsibilities include monitoring compliance with local and contract-specific HSE requirements, assisting in safety training, and fostering a safe working environment through audits and risk assessments.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • NCSO Certification or equivalent.
  • Valid H2S Alive.
  • Valid Standard First Aid / CPR.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and able to provide an acceptance driver’s abstract.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

  • Applied, comprehensive knowledge and understanding of HSE systems and industry requirements.
  • Proficiency with database applications and administration systems, specifically Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organization and communication skills, in both oral and written correspondence.
  • Excellent time management.
  • High level of sound and independent judgment and reasoning.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Extensive use of phone and video conferencing platform.
  • This position requires frequent travel to field locations across Alberta, comprising 60-70% of the role. You will visit field locations to conduct safety audits, provide on-site training, and support compliance with safety regulations and procedures. Travel will often include extended stays at remote locations, and flexibility is essential to respond to operational needs. Candidates should be prepared for varying work environments and weather conditions. Steel toe boots will be required for field visits.
Responsibilities
  • Oversee ISN, Complyworks, Avetta, Accuvio, and Workhub.
  • Complete and standardize HSE reporting processes, ensuring monthly statistics and data are collected for the region.
  • Track employee training requirements, maintain records, and circulate training compliance updates.
  • Continuously improve HSE policies, procedures, manuals, and task hazard assessments to enhance system effectiveness.
  • Coordinate and chair regular safety meetings and assist with the CRS HSE Committee, including field visits to monitor compliance.
  • Assist with the implementation of safety rewards programs and coordinate safety training across the organization.
  • Manage and report on safety incidents, participate in incident investigations, and ensure proper follow-up and compliance.
  • Ensure all client-specific HSE requirements are communicated and upheld, managing all client online compliance platforms.
  • Ensure all equipment-related HSE documentation is current, track deficiencies, and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) as needed.
