Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced HSE Advisor for our Sewage Treatment Plant in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the health, safety, and environmental compliance of our operations while promoting a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.

  • Develop, implement, and maintain HSE policies, procedures, and programs for the sewage treatment plant
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses, providing detailed reports and recommendations for prevention
  • Ensure compliance with local and international HSE regulations and standards applicable to sewage treatment operations
  • Deliver HSE training programs to employees and contractors, promoting safety awareness and best practices
  • Monitor and evaluate environmental impacts of plant operations, recommending improvements to minimize negative effects
  • Collaborate with management and operations teams to integrate HSE considerations into daily activities and long-term planning
  • Maintain accurate HSE records and prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders
  • Stay updated on emerging HSE trends, technologies, and regulations in the water treatment industry

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in HSE roles, preferably in water treatment or related industries
  • Relevant HSE certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH)
  • In-depth knowledge of HSE regulations and standards, particularly those applicable to sewage treatment plants in the UAE
  • Strong understanding of sewage treatment processes, technologies, and associated environmental impacts
  • Proven experience in conducting risk assessments, incident investigations, and environmental impact assessments
  • Proficiency in HSE management systems and related software
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey HSE concepts to diverse audiences
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a detail-oriented approach to work
  • Experience in developing and delivering safety training programs
  • Familiarity with water quality management practices and regulations
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
  • Fluency in English; knowledge of Arabic is a plus
