HSE Area Manager JOB DESCRIPTION Occupational Summary The HSE Area Manager is responsible for the provision of timely advice and guidance on all matters pertaining to Health, Safety and Environment with respect to Legislation, Company Policy and Management System and Client requirements, thereby reducing risks to the business. May also have a direct responsibility for HSE Advisors and Coordinators within the Business Unit or Contract/Project.   Task Statement: * Providing strategic advice and guidance to theirmanagerson related matters * Rolling out of Group HSEannual objectives and initiatives and development of company objectives * Providing support to Business Unit/Contract/Project Managers and HSEAdvisors in the development and roll-out of Group objectives and other initiatives * Providing support to senior managers in incident and accident investigations using an appropriate Investigation process (e.g.A-Z) * Monitoring ‘best-practice’ and developing ‘leading-edge’ HSEinitiatives as appropriate to the business they aresupporting. * Completion of Management Support Visits to installations and worksites * Providing support to senior Managers and HSEAdvisors in the timely reporting of both leading and lagging HSEIndicators * Undertaking lagging indicator reviews of incident/accident trends and providing timely advice to senior Managers and Corporate Management on actions and initiativesusing EHS Insight program * Providing mentorship and training for graduate/new recruits into the team as appropriate * Providing cross-Business Unit support as required * Carrying-out HSEInductions for New-starts * Developing HSEpresentational material to support inductions and Groupinitiatives. * Ensure an SAP/SEP is completed and approved for all their projects in their area. * Ensure HSE staffing for projects is maintained for appropriate coverage. * Attend client meetings including contractor HSE meetings as applicable. Qualifications * HSE Certification (any type) * CSSTrequired. * Trained and competent Internal Auditor (essential) * Trained and competent External Auditor (desirable) * RCA – Accident/incident InvestigatorA-Z,  (essential) Knowledge, skills, and experience: * 3-4 years’ experience in industrial/construction industry * Lead/Senior HSE advisor experience with project/contract experience in O&G or other industry * Excellent working knowledge with relevant legislation and regulations * Good planning and organizational skills * Effective/competent MS Office Suite User * High level of communication skills in both written and spoken format Personal attributes: * Demonstrable commitment to company and client values * Commitment to HSE and safety and assurance and the need to drive down incidents and accidents across the Industry * Commitment to continuous improvement * Strong communication and networking skills * Trustworthy and approachable * Highly developed influencing and interpersonal skills
