We are currently seeking a diligent and enthusiastic HSE Assistant to support our Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) operations. This role is ideal for individuals looking to build a career in HSE within a dynamic construction environment.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Diploma or certification in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field.
  • 1–2 years of experience in an HSE support role, preferably in the construction industry.
  • Basic knowledge of Canadian health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Strong communication and observational skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office and capable of maintaining detailed records and reports.
  • A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and take initiative.
  • Physically fit and comfortable working on active construction sites.
Responsibilities
  • Assist the HSE Officer in implementing safety policies, procedures, and regulations across job sites.
  • Conduct routine inspections to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Help maintain HSE documentation, including incident reports, inspection checklists, and safety records.
  • Support in organizing safety meetings, toolbox talks, and training sessions for staff and workers.
  • Monitor usage of personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure availability of safety gear.
  • Report any unsafe conditions, near misses, or incidents to the HSE Officer immediately.
  • Promote a culture of safety and environmental awareness throughout the company.
  • Coordinate with site supervisors to ensure ongoing adherence to HSE guidelines.
